Baking and jam entries should be presented on a plate or board. Ensure your name and phone number are on the back. If you are 16 or under, your age will be taken into consideration.
Farmhouse Biscuits – 16 years and under
Entries should be 3 biscuits with a farming theme (such as with the shape or decoration of a farm animal or tractor), presented nicely on a paper plate. Open to those aged 16 and under. Please write your name and age on the back of the plate. Your age will be taken into consideration by the judges.
Chocolate Sponge Cake
This year’s sponge cake competition is for a chocolate sponge. Use your most delicious recipe to make a chocolate sponge cake, which should be displayed on a cake stand, tray or plate. The cake can be iced simply.
Best Decorated Cake
Show off your creativity with a cake decorated in our Farming theme. Any type of cake may be entered; the judging will be purely on appearance. You can interpret the theme any way you wish, from the shape of the cake to the decoration on top. Display your cake on a cake stand, board, or plate.
Farmhouse Scones
Entries should be 3 scones, fruit or plain, presented nicely on a plate.
Farmhouse Loaf
New for this year is a bread-making category. Entries can be any type of home-made bread, in any suitable shape. Please display your entry on a board or plate and attach a label describing the kind of bread you have made.
Farmhouse Jam
Tempt us with a jar of tasty jam using any type of fruit. Add a decorative fabric top or ribbon to make the jar look special.
