Melbourn Fete aims to bring the village together, to have fun, socialise and raise money for local groups. Each year the committee organises the day so that local clubs, societies and charities can set-up stalls and provide entertainment to help with their fundraising. All proceeds are put back into the community. Over the last few years we have donated over £33,000 to many local groups and good causes.
Following a successful fete in 2018, Melbourn Committee decided to move to a once every 2 years’ event. We continue to operate other local events with our community partners including Melbourn Open Gardens and Turn on to Christmas. Also we support other village events through the loan of equipment and expertise. The success of the Fete and the many other fantastic village events depends on all kinds of volunteers.
The Fete Committee is always looking for new members to help organise the Fete through enjoyable social gatherings at the Dolphin and Black Horse. Also we depend on those kind and generous villagers who turn up to help us set up the Fete on the friday, volunteer on the day to help make it happen and then help us put it all to bed afterwards. We couldn’t do this without you and we always need more help.
